Alison and John-Married

Alison and John were married on a beautiful summer day July 18th at the Church of the Incarnation in Mantua, NJ. The reception was held at Auletto's in Deptford, NJ. Austin and I were so excited to shoot this wedding ever since we shot their engagement pictures a few months back. The wedding day was perfect, and everything ran smoothly. These two are so sweet together, and are fortunate to be surronded wonderful families. Aulettos had so many great places to take pictures and Ali and John gave us plenty of time to get some pictures of them and their bridal party. Ali is a first grade teacher, and she invited her students to her wedding ceremony. The kids were so cute, and they were so proud of their teacher. Once we got to the reception, the party got rolling right away. The dance floor was packed all night, and even during the last song of the night, there wasnt a spot left on the dance floor. Being around this couple and their family made me realize once again why I love shooting weddings! Here are a few of my favorites of the day:

At this point in the ceremony the priest had them turn away from each other. He proceeded with talking about what marriage means and ended it with "With everyone in this church as witness, we hope this is the last time you ever turn your back on each other"
How cute is that? I'm a sappy chic.... so I teared up... just a bit

I am an Aunt!

Yes, I have some very exciting news.... I am an aunt! Austins sister Erica welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world on Tuesday afternoon. His name is Alex John and he weighed in at 8lbs and 21 inches long. I am very excited to have a nephew, and I know that Austin feels the same way.

The story of the birth of this baby from my perspective was that of an emotional rollercoaster. We got a phone call at 5am on Monday morning to let us know that Erica started having contractions, and we were so excited that the baby was on his way that we waited it out a while. At 8am, nothing had changed and they said it would be a while, so we went on our way keeping our phones nearby in case we got another phone call saying it was time. That night I sat on the computer editing photos and getting updates via text message from Glenn about Erica's status and his soon to be son. They finally headed to the hospital when the contractions were 5 minutes apart for an hour.

At 2am we got notice that they were giving Erica the epidural, so we packed up... I grabbed the camera... and off to Delaware we went to Christiana Hospital. Needless to say... the little guy had no intention of coming out just yet... so we waited all night/morning. Austin's mom was in the delivery room, but we eventually had some company in the waiting room around 6am when Austin's dad and stepmom arrived. More hours went by... and in the early afternoon the doctors decided it was time to do a c-section. Shortly after, Alex was welcomed into this world. Erica had been in labor for 33 hours! I can't even explain how excited we were to see the baby. When it was Austin and my turn to head up and see him, we both had butterflies. We each got a chance to hold the little guy only a couple hours old, and I already started informing him that I am going to be the favorite Aunt!....haha...

This one is my favorite because he looks like he is smiling:

Sherry and Matt- Married, Ocean City, NJ

A couple weeks ago I ventured down the shore to the Flanders Hotel in Ocean City to shoot with Nate Juliano . Sherry and Matt were the cutest couple, and Sherry's smile could light up the room. I was in my glory with the decor that they chose because everything was pink! Every detail of the day was pink, black and white... The ceremony was held in the Garden room and the reception was in the upstairs ballroom. I loved everything about this location that sits right on the boardwalk.

Sherry was so curious about what was going on down there, that she had to get in a little peek.

Beyonce Concert- Wachovia Center Philadelphia

This year my mom asked for Beyonce concert tickets for her birthday, and I was fortunate that Austin was able to get us good seats. The concert was at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. Well, what I saw of the show was amazing... Her entire band was female, which is not something you usually see. Beyonce was such a good performer and the whole place was on their feet the entire time. There were two stages, one at end court which was the bigger stage and the other was a smaller stage directly in front of us. I was so excited that she was going to be so close and I was thinking about all the great pics I could get from there. Well, unfortunatly I had been sick all week, but I thought I would be fine to go to the concert. About 1/3 into the concert I couldn't breathe and spent the rest of the night listening to the concert from either the medical room or outside. Austin actually had to drive all the way over to the concert with my asthma medicine for me. So, I missed a lot of the concert including the part where she was on the stage in front of us. My mom got some great pics and she and my sister had an awesome time. So, I dont have many pics from the concert, but I did get a few of us getting ready to go beforehand...

This little cutie was sitting next to Dink and she not only knew all the words to every Beyonce song, but I was surprised when she was singing all the lyrics to the Michael Jackson songs too.

Amanda

While editing Amanda and Jim's wedding I got to one photo that was a little different than the others. This one had a little edge to it, and Amanda totally understood what I was looking for. So, just for something a little different....

Rachel and Ethan are Married - Richwood, NJ

On Saturday Austin and I shot Rachel and Ethan's wedding in Richwood,NJ at the United Methodist Church. Rachel and Ethan's reception was held at the Pitman Golf Course. You may recognize Rachel from my blog a few months back from a photoshoot in Philly. Rachel has done some modeling work and it was so nice that I got to shoot with her before her wedding and got to know her and learn about her relationahip withEthan. Rachel and Ethan have that kind of young love that you would think is only seen in the movies because its so real and full of excitement.

Rachel looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day and her dress was incredible. There was so much emotion during this wedding and I even caught myself sniffling a few times throughout the day. The father-daughter dance was so touching that there was barely a dry eye in the room. I feel so fortunate to have been there to photograph Rachel and Ethan's wedding. These two families were so welcoming and Austin and I felt like part of the crowd.

Amanda and Jim are Married!

Last Saturday Austin and I headed over the bridge to Greys Towers at Arcadia University for Amanda and Jim's Wedding. After a week of rain, mother nature decided to give an encore on Friday with thunderstorms and almost 2 inches of rain. Amanda and Jim's wedding was looking like it was going to be moved indoors even if the sun came out on Saturday because of the possibility of the chairs sinking into the lawn. I think we were all convinced that the wedding would take place inside as part of plan B. I can't even explain how happy I was for Amanda when she got the call early Saturday, that they were still on for their outside wedding, because I knew how much it meant to both the bride and groom.

Well, mother nature definitely turned around for Saturday and we had the most beautiful day. The grass was so incredibly green from all the rain and the sky was as blue as ever. Amanda and Jim's wedding day was perfect.

This wedding had one of the best ceremonies that I have been to because it was so personal. The officiant spoke about why Amanda and Jim cared so much for each other and what they loved about one another. There were so many personal items at Amanda and Jim's wedding including a music playlist created by their guests and the awesome reggae band Steppin Razor that you should all go check out. The bride and groom chose such a fun bridal party that was up for anything and Austin and I really enjoyed being around them.

So, instead of posting some teaser pictures right here I have decided to do something a little different because I couldn't narrow my favorites down. To see a slideshow of Amanda and Jim's Wedding

It's not Thanksgiving!

On a normal day in the morning there are bunny rabbits in the front yard that like to torture our dog. She never barks at them, but she does shiver and cry. So, it caught me offguard when a very loud bark came from the living room. This would normally mean that there is a dog walking by that she doesn't know, so I looked out the window and.... no dog... hmmmm... So Lola and I stared out the window for a minute while she barked and I tried to figure out what was out there. Then I saw it.... a wild turkey! Now, for most people this is not all that exciting, but I live in suburbia.... there are no turkeys here! So, I did what I always do when animals visit my neighborhood... I grabbed a camera... So, heres a look at today's visitor...

Cathy and Sean Lowes Hotel in Philadelphia

On Saturday I had the chance to second shoot for Michael Leslie at one of my favorite venues in Philly, the Lowes Hotel. Sean and Cathy have known each other for 25 years! They were so sweet together and they had so many little moments during the day where they took the time to tell each other how they felt. The Millenium Ballroom at the Lowes Hotel looked absolutely stunning. Cathy and Sean's florist did an amazing job with the table arrangements. And now... onto some pics...
