Brett and Kimmy are Married

I'm so excited just to even write this blog post! This past Saturday I got the most awesome opportunity to second shoot for Nate Juliano at Brett and Kimmy's wedding. I was super nervous in the beginning... so much so that I wasn't talking, and anyone who knows me knows that me not talking is a rare occasion. Once I relaxed, I was able to enjoy myself. The bride was beautiful and the reception had so many personal touches that you could not help to share in their love that day.

Easter

It was just our luck that we had a term paper due on Easter Sunday and we didn't think we were going to get a chance to have Easter dinner with the family or anything. After church, we decided that we couldn't do another night of lean cuisines and we were going to get our papers done before dinner no matter what. I don't think I have ever written a paper so fast, but we finished just in time to make it to Austin's aunt's house for all the goodies. Stay tuned for an exciting blog post to come from this past Saturday!

In-line for Springtime

So, I decided last week that I needed to escape from my desk at lunchtime because I was going a bit crazy from staring into my monitor forever. So, I took my lunch break at sports authority knowing that I could find some new toys while I was there. In a matter of minutes I had found a pair of roller blades that I loved and I was skating around sports authority. So... the blades had to come home with me... I called Austin and begged him to leave work early to go rollerblading, but unfortunatly I had to go back to work and stick it out for the rest of the day while my new rollerblades waited patiently in the trunk...I haven't rollerbladed since about 6th grade, but in the last week I have become a rollerblading nut... Lola trys to keep up by running down the sidewalk.. but the poor pup gets tired out after only a few laps around the block... Now, if I could only figure out how to stop; because my skates don't have any brakes.........

Let them eat cake

The blog post on February 10th is a prerequisite for this blog post, because I was talking about how I tried to go to a dessert convention. Well, would you believe that only a few weeks later the next best thing has come to Philly called "Let them eat cake". This event was a charity event cake competition with 40 professional cakes and 10 student cakes to be judged in 2 categories: appearance & taste. All of the proceeds from the tickets go towards the City Of Hope Foundation which is a research center dedicated to curing and preventing cancer. I didn't waste any time purchasing my tickets! Needless to say, after all that cake testing we were both sick to our stomach and didn't hang around for the official results, so here is my own set of awards!

First Place: Appearance Second Place: AppearanceThird Place: AppearanceFirst Place: Taste: This cake was chocolate ganache with milk and white chocolate mousse, so deliciousSecond Place: Taste This cake was a Southern Sweet Potato Cake with Cream Cheese icingThird Place: Taste This was another chocolate one (my weakness) of moist chocolate cake with ganache filling..yummmRunner Up:

Blake comes over to Visit

One of my best friends, Kristy, stopped over last weekend with her adorable 15 month old son Blake. Blake played shy when he first arrived, but by the time we made it to the resturant for lunch he was yelling and throwing everything on the floor (food, shoes, paper) and I couldn't do anything but laugh. Blake has the biggest blue eyes and some Angelina-like lips... so I couldn't help but break out the camera when he was here......

Prison Shoot Part 1

So, I spent Saturday at the Eastern State Penitentiary with some other photographers and a group of models for a photoshoot. I had so much fun and I can't wait to do something like this again. The old broken down retired prison was a great place to shoot.I have so many images from this shoot that I am going to have to break it up into two seperate blog posts.

New Purchases

So, I bought a website and a big-girl membership to DWF which means that as soon as that goes through I will be spending hours upon hours reading the forums.... and I can't wait. The website will probably take a while to get up and running for the main reason being that I don't have enough images for it yet. I am going to a shoot in Philly this weekend for some portfolio building, but of course its going to rain!

In my never-ending fitness endeavors, the latest had been P90x which I purchased on a whim after seeing on an info-mercial when I was not sleeping but should have been. Austin and I have been doing the bootcamp workouts for a few weeks now and I think we are ready to commit to the 90 day program. We now have an entire weight set, bands, and a pull-up bar in our downstairs...Today will be the official first day...

Dessert Convention

So, I made the decision for today to be a lazy Sunday including cleaning, organizing, dancing around to my latest ipod tunes, and hanging out in front of the t.v. Well, As I was channel surfing I came across a show about the Great American Dessert Convention, so I immediately jumped up and googled it..... in the hopes that I could go. Once again... my sweet tooth was driving my every thought.. which included flying to Vegas for desserts at this convention. Unfortunatly, this event is only open to professionals in the food and beverage industry...new mission... Find someone in the food/beverage industry that would allow me to tag along...

Sleeping Arrangements

It is apparent who is in charge in our house, and I'll give you a clue that it's not Austin or myself.

Dink is 23!

Any event for my sister Dink is always an interesting one and in case you weren't aware of the National Holiday on Feb 1st otherwise known as "Dink's Birthday".. then you do now. The party consisted of family, friends, food and wii tornaments...

Dana asked Dink to be her maid of honor with this 1980's bridesmaid dress

Austin and Uncle Dewey spent most of the night playing the Wii
